IE 6.0 hugs CPU

IE 6.0 hugs CPU

Post by Prisoner-2 » Wed, 05 May 2004 13:50:03

IE loads up slowly and takes all available CPU cycles,
sometimes hangs indefinitely and stops responding, slowing
any other apps to a crawl as well. Not having issue if I
use Firebird, Netscape or Opera. Tried disabling 3rd party
extensions and ran Spybot, no improvement. Norton not
reporting any viruses. Any suggestions?

Spybot S & D won't catch everything.
See

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

I looked it over, found some similar symptoms but they all
relate to programs or versions I don't have. Good resource
to keep for future problems though. Thnx.
