Hi Paul,
Terrific looking Ripple post.

One trick you can use to reduce some weight in this is with the main
background image. Since you only need a small portion of it showing through
the transparent window, you can blacken out all that doesn't show. This will
reduce the size of that image from 177k down to about 14k (a substantial
savings)
You can take a look at the main image in this reply to see what I'm
referring to.

as I said to Don I used to do waht he suggested with applets and completely
forgot about it.. so wrapped up in getting it right....
and yes I was on dial up for a long time and I am very mindful of folks who
