Login Scripts and Group Policy

Post by c2NhbG » Fri, 20 Oct 2006 01:06:02

I have a group policy that launches loginscript A.......but my users have a
.bat login script that they also need to run from the Profile Tab in AD users
and comptuers....in addtion to setting home directory etc.

Will these 2 both run? I assume so. Will they conflict and shut the other
off or cancel each other out? They dont have any conflicting settings but im
wonder which will run first etc. Will they both run at the same time even
though i havent sent them (in policy) to run synchronously.

I can't remember which runs first. You can test by getting both to pipe
something like the following to a file:

echo Script #1 :: %time:~0,8% >> %temp%\scripts.txt

Note. You don't have to use the legacy (user profile) way at all. You can
have multiple logon scripts in one or many GPOs.
