Sharepoint Migration

Post by TGVtQGNvbW » Thu, 19 Jun 2008 06:23:01

Hello all,

I have a windows server 2003 network with sharepoint 2007 using sql 2000 sp4
on system A and would like to move the sql 2000 that sharepoint is using to
system b which has sql 2005 sp1.

My problem is I do not know where to start nor do I know how to successfully
do this in a production environment without losing any data.

I was thinking to just copy the actual database files from the data folder
on system a to system b then starting a whole new intranet site.

If anyone has any suggestions or articles i could read to successfully move
from system (w/sql 2000 sp4) a to system b (w/sql2005 sp1) without causing
any major problems, please let me know.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, please let me know if more
information is needed, our network is very small less than 30 users if that
helps any and there is one main site that has about 5 subsites for our
intranet.

thanks
