Upgrade from Active Directory 2000 to Active Directory 2003

Post by TWlrZ » Wed, 23 Aug 2006 15:46:02

Hi,

We have a 2000 Active Directory environment with 2 Domain controllers. We're
going to be upgrading to AD 2003 by running forest prep and then domain prep
on the schema master and then upgrading each domain controller to windows
2003.

The question I have is this. We also have Exchange 2000 in our environment.
At any time during the upgrade process of forest prep, domain prep. or the
win2k3 upgrade will there we any effect on clients trying to access email?

Thanks

Hi,

Nothing will affect the mail access but one thing you have to pay attention
is that: the schema is extended by exchange 2000 but now it will be
extended by Windows Server 2003 again.

Check the following article at section "Microsoft Exchange 2000 in Windows
2000 forests "

Thanks.
