SBS 2003 setup stops responding during setup

Post by ihitre » Sat, 10 Jul 2004 15:57:50

Hy ,
during fresh setup SBS 2003 stops responding on 34% of "Installing
Device" initial part of setup. We let him alone for 1 hour but no
effects. Server is ASUS 1700-S5.
Any idea could help us a lot!

Regards

Do you have the NICs attached to a disconnected Router or Switch or
crossover lead to another PC ?
...you should do that.

Sometimes opening and re-closing the CD Draw has been known to work,
otherwise, just wait. it should eventually complete.

Note: If toggling the Caps Lock lights the Led it's not locked up.

Is the ASUS 1700-S5 on the Windows Server HCL ?

Server has connection with Swith

Message on screen is not 34% - its 34 minutes to end of installation :-)
After that point mouse is frozzen, HDD activity is high. We let server on
that
state one hour without any effect...

Sounds to me like it would have finished if you could be patient -
Hopefully you let it run.
Mouse activity is not a good way to check. Caps lock light is better.

Try it again and just let it do it's thing.
