recipient's destination email system unknow or invalid....

Post by Frank Bais » Thu, 03 Jun 2004 16:40:27

I received that message when I emailed someone on the same network, in the
same domain using the same 2003SBS. It happened when I address her email,
and it came up in the to filed properly, and typed the email and then sent
it. I immediately received that undeliverable message. I tried again and
this time I picked her name from the Select Names dialog box, and it worked.
I guess my question is why is the system recognizing the name, filled it in
automatically in the to field, but then failed to recognized it when I sent
the email unless I use the select name windows. Does this have anything to
do with alias? I don't think all my users are having this problem, just two
or three.

Thanks.

2. The message could not be delivered because the recipient's destination email system is unknown or invalid.

I saw an earlier message about this problem but could not find an
answer so here I go again asking if someone has a solution to the
following problem:

At our company we have Exchange 2003-SP2 running and use Office
2003-SP2 on the computers connected to this exchange server.

When you create an appointment in Outlook 2003 and invite a certain
user in our company, lets call him "Person1", as an attendee to the
appointment you receive the following message:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: Test

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

Secretary on 18-8-2006 13:23
The message could not be delivered because the recipient's
destination email system is unknown or invalid. Please check the
address and try again, or contact your system administrator to verify
connectivity to the email system of the recipient.

The user "Secretary" was the secretary of Person1 but she has left our
employment so I have removed her as a user from our Active Directory.

My guess is that Person1 had given this secretary access to his
calendar to let her create and manage appointments for him. I have used
his Outlook 2003 and searched through the permissions he has set on his
calendar folder on the Exchange server but the name of this secretary
does no longer appear there. Next I searched our whole AD and did not
find any reference to this secretary too.

Does anyone know how to solve this?
