AD user account not able to inherit permission from AD

Post by Alan » Tue, 12 Dec 2006 16:32:24

I am using Windows 2003 AD, with a AD user account not able to inherit
permissions from AD. The option in the Security->Advanced for the
"Allowed inheritable permissions from the parents......." will get
reset.

Any advise.

Try to check what you see on Effective Permissions tab. Also check
state of the Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to
the object checkbox on parent object. If you will clear it on parent
and overwrite the ACL, the child will inherit this overwritten ACL. The
child object itself should have this option checked.

For the particular user, he has all the Read permission on the
effective Permissions tab. I tried to check on the option box for the
"Allow inheritable permission from parent" but it will disappear after
the AD replication.
