Exchange 2003 SP1 event sink problem

Exchange 2003 SP1 event sink problem

Post by VGhvbWFzIF » Thu, 08 Jul 2004 18:16:01

We are using an event sink registered for the global store-wide event OnSyncSave with Exchange Server 2003.
Everything was working fine until we have installed SP1 for Exchange Server 2003.
Each time we restart the Exchange service using "net stop ..." and "net start ..." respectively the event sink is not triggered anymore!

Listing the registered event sinks with "regevent.vbs Enum ..." says that the event sink is still registered.
We are wondering why it is not triggered anymore?
When we reregister our event sink using regevent.vbs after restarting the Exchange service it is triggered again.

What has been changed with Exchange Server 2003 SP1 causing the event sink not working properly?

I hope someone experienced the same problem and can give us a hint what is wrong.

Thanks,

Thomas

Hello,

It is a Ex2k3 SP1 bug, I have a MS opened call about it...
Current proposed solution is a second sink OnMDBStartup to re-register the
sink every time the store restarts.

Emmanuel.
