Used to be able to do a virus scan from Dos. My daughters computer has gotten
infected from some place. Won't even let her boot in to desktop.

Is there a way or shall I say, a program or emergency disk that can be run from
Dos just for such an instance of this kind.

McAffee used to have an Emergency Dos Boot disk.

Hi John

Have far into the boot process does the PC go - i.e. what do you see on the
last screen? Most AV programs would have an option to create a 'rescue'
disk when installed. Was Mcafee already installed on the PC? If so, your
PC supplier should have provided the rescue disk for you.
