Remote Computer Management

Post by Brian Wall » Fri, 26 Sep 2003 01:31:32

I am trying to setup a couple of Windows XP computers so that I can do the
computer management tasks etc on a remote machine from a central machine.
Everytime I try to access any of the tasks, I get a message that Access is
denied. Can anyone point me to an article or give me directions to properly
set the computers up to enable this. I may not have all the things
configured that I need to, I'm not 100% sure. Any help on this would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm on a 2000 Native Domain. I'd like to be able to remote manage
other pc's on the network. It seems that I'm only able to connect to
them from Computer Management if "File and Print Sharing" is installed.
Is that correct and is there any way around it? Also do you have to
have File sharing enabled to use the administrative share?
