Sound Capture Problem

Sound Capture Problem

I have done alot of trouble shooting on this already but it is driving me
crazy because I know there is a simple solution I can't think of. Here is
the situation:

I am capturing video and audio through my AIW 7500 card through the purple
adapter supplied with the card(using composite audio/video from my satellite
reciever). The ATI card connects internally to my sound blaster card
through the line-in connection. The three programs I have been using are
virtual dub, Dr. Divx, and Pinnacle Studio 9.3. I cannot capture audio with
the video I am trying to capture. The strange thing is when I am previewing
I can hear the audio I want to capture through my computer speakers. Last
week I had no problem capturing audio when using the same programs and my
firewire. I have played with everysetting I can think of to the point now
when my audio does not work at all. I am assuming its a Windows setting
seeing that I am having problems with all three programs but have no idea of
what it is. I have tried selecting and deselecting the various input for
recording on my volume control and nothing is muted either. Any ideas at to
what the problem is? Thanks in advance.

PS I had no problem doing this before 2 weeks ago when I had to reinstall
windows xp. There have been no hardware changes.

I do a similar thing with my ATI TV Wonder. The set up seams to be the same
with my satellite reciever. You say this started after a reinstall of
Windows. You might try reinstalling MMC. Just a thought.
