There are GID [.gid] files on my computer. I doubt that they're
engineering files because I don't do anything in that area. What are
those files and how can I open them to see what's inside?

Thank you,

Barry Karas

Help files. You can't. They are an index to the main file.

You know when you open a help file for the first time you may get a message
saying "preparing index" or some such? These are the files that are created.
You should be able to delete them. The only thing is you'll get the
"creating index" message the next time you open that help file.

All of thre GID files are in my recycle bin. Apparently, they
automatically go there.
