I can tell you what I did, but no guarantee it will work for you.
In control panel, open up Power Options. Enable Advanced Power Management
(APM). Now mine powers off by itself when I shut down, just like it used to
with Win98!



"your computer is safe to turn off" screen. When I was running win98 it just
shut down automatically without this. How do I set XP to do this?
