remote into other machines on the same network as the Media Center Edition?
If you desire - you can install the Remote Desktop Client v6.0 instead:

And since there are v5.1 clients (at least) for other operating systems
(like Win 9x, etc...) then it is doubtful it is the actual client software -
but more of a routing issue or you typing in an invalid address or some
third party software you might have installed on the Media Center Edition
