Differences between Word 2000 doc saved as word 6.0 and Word 6.0 doc

I have a mainframe application that needs a .prn file
created in Word 6.0 under Windows 3.1 using a 16 bit
print driver (HP IID). I have Word 2000 running under
Windows XP. I create a document in Word 2000 and save as
Word 6.0/95. When I move the document to the Windows 3.1
pc and open it in Word 6.0 everything looks fine. I
print to file and then send it to the mainframe
application. The mainframe application does not like the
file and keeps noting that it can't interpret font
PX001P. If I create the document in Word 6.0 and print
to file, the mainframe application does not have a
problem. What is different between the .prn files
created by Word 6.0 where one document is originally
created in Word 6.0 and the other is created in Word 2000
but saved as a Word 6.0/95 document.
