How to hide the printer fonts?

Post by Jezebe » Thu, 01 Jul 2004 14:19:32

Currently, the list of fonts showing in Word contains all the fonts
installed in Windows plus, if my PostScript printer is the default, the
fonts built in to the printer. I would prefer the list to show only the
installed fonts. Is there any way to switch off or hide the printer fonts?

You can elect to display only TrueType fonts, but then you won't see any
Type 1 fonts you have that are not printer-resident.

Sorry, this is VERY late in coming, but in case you ever come back ...
If you use AdobePS (versus the native Windows driver), you can remove the
printer instance; comment out the fonts in the printer's PPD file; reinstall
the printer. But do NOT comment out Courier. I don't know why, but you must
leave that one.
