hi, I'm still learning about information extraction.
cos I learn by myself, I'm afraid that I had misconception about (LP)2
on that score, I need to ask about rule generalization in (LP)2 :-)

This article talks about (LP)2, including rule generalization:

In the first phase, (LP)2 induces tagging rules, but they are very
specific, as in "at 4 pm" is a start-time.

Rule generalization is done in two ways:

1. Components of the rule are replaced with wild cards or patterns:
"at * pm" or "at <digit> pm".
2. Rules are shortened by removing a component: "4 pm" or "at 4".
