Exchange Migration / Public Folder migration interOrg

I'm performing an Active Directory Forest Migration from one AD forest to
another.

The tool I plan to use is ADMT V3.
This tool according to the documentation doesn support Exchange 2003
unless I misunderstood.

My strategy for the Exchange Migration is to build a new Exchange Org in the
new domain.

Use mail contacts in the old domain / exchange org to forward email to new
Domain in the new Exchange org then clean up the MX records and point to new
SMTP server for new domain.

Extract the mailboxes with exmerge from old domain / Exchange Org; import
the mailboxes into new domain / Exchange Org.

Can someone shed some light on how I can migrate over 50 gigs of public
folder data between two Exchange Orgs?

Can someone see the approach I'm taking and concur with my logic?

Kind regards,

John

Is there any reason that you want to move to another forest?

I'm forever trying to remind my people that the permissions in E2K* are
based on AD permissions rather than what they are used to. If I've granted
permissions to a folder to o=legacyorg/ou=legacysite/cn=recipient/cn=user
than it had better exist in the new environment or you'll need to script the
heck out of the changes.

The reason why we are moving to another forest is because the child company
of the parent company has become it own entity and requires a whole new
domain and exchange environment

Thank you,

Have you looked at pfmigrate? My understanding is that as of Exchange SP1
deployment tools or the most current downloadable ones it has a /SC switch
allowing you to replicate public folders to another organisation. I'm doing
the same thing for the first time and havn't got this working. Please post
if you find the resolution. My situation is migrating AD and Exchange to new
forest and exchange server.

i,

The pfmigrate /sc is used for site consolidation within the same exchange
organization - not between organizations.

The interorg replication tool can be used to replicate folders between
exchange organization - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238573/en-us
Else copy the PF's to a mailbox and migrate this mailbox.

I would be happy to discuss in detail offline
