Migrate Ex5.5 to Ex2003

Can't seem to see any messages related to this so I guess I'll ask!

I have an Exchange 5.5 SP4/Winnt 4.0 domain that I want to migrate to
an *existing* Win2K AD domain.

Some of the users have a different login ID on the Win2K domain than
the Winnt domain.

How do I migrate the 5.5 mailboxes where the usernames are different
on both servers?

If you already have the new domain in place with the user accounts created
and you didn't use ADMT or some tool to preserve SIDHistory - then there is
no link between the accounts so moving becomes more complicated.

If you don't want the servers to co-exist you can use exmerge and move mail
manually via PST files to the new server.
Or you can blow away your new accounts, use ADMT to migrate with SIDHistory,
and use migration wizard to create the mailboxes and move them.

If you do want to co-exist with the 5.5, then you should consider removing
the users from the new domain, using ADMT to populate that domain with
SIDHistory, and use move server wizard to migrate.
