bogus senderadress when sending mail external.

bogus senderadress when sending mail external.

Hi. I have some major problems with bogus sender-email-
addresses when sending external mail through our exchange
servers.

I have an Exchange 2000 environment in an Active Directory
domain. I have 2 sites with Ad-servers and exchange-
servers on each site, running win2000 server English on
all servers including exchange-servers. Exchangeservers
are AD-integrated.

Each user has its on mailbox and mail is delivered to
users via POP on each client and stored in each user's
mailbox on their exchange-server. Although we do this, we
use our exchange-server as an SMTP when mailing external
addresses..

This works fine for all users except for those who have a
Swedish character in their names stored in AD. That is, if
the users name is "P Jsson", with First name "P",
sir name "Jsson" and email-address " XXXX@XXXXX.COM "
stored in AD , his sender-address will end up as
<sirname>@<receiving_mailserverhost> instead of
XXXX@XXXXX.COM . So if this user would mail
XXXX@XXXXX.COM , his sender-address would end up
jonsson@<servername>.microsoft.com. (?). This only occurs
for users with a Swedish character somewhere stored in AD
via the AD-schema. Why do I have this problem?

Here is a mail-head from a user with address
XXXX@XXXXX.COM to XXXX@XXXXX.COM , who's actual
name in AD is "Annika Brdstr".

Why is this????

1. Restricting local users from sending external mail but allow sending mail to internal LAN users.

2. POP3 external sent mail vanishes, inbound external and all interna

I can retrieve email from an external POP just fine and it routes to proper
mailbox. I can send and receive internal email just fine too. My problem is
that email sent to any outside address vanishes into thin air. No error in
Exchange. Message appears in Outbox as if it was sent. No error in event
viewer. It's just gone.

I've setup Outlook express and can successfully send and receive emails with
it so I know the account and settings are OK.

Not sure what to try next. Thanks in advance....

3. using external email from website to send external mail

4. sending domain mail to external mail server

5. newbie question: sendmail doesn't send mail to external mail account.

6. Windows-Mail - invitation not send by mail - meeting not send by mail

7. Windows Mail - Sent Mail Goes to Sent Folder, But Does Not Send

8. Routing External Mail to the external mail server.

9. Sent Mail, have mail in sent box not sent by me??

10. Filtering out Undeliverable messages that were sent to bogus accounts, though not sent from actual sender?

11. Send external mails. Can a local W2K Pro SMTP Server send external mails? How?

12. Mail forward internal mail account to external ISP mail server

13. Sending Mails to external domains in .net 1.1

14. Forward Mails sent to a public folder to an external SMTP address

15. setup exchange to send/receive mail from external pop3 account/address
