Queue is growing and I have to force connection

Post by Stev » Wed, 05 May 2004 01:12:03

I have a Win2K Server with Exchange 2000 loaded. Post SP3.
I have 20 users and I recently created a second storage
group with 3 mailbox stores in addition to the original
storage group and mailbox store. I moved mailboxes around
and everything seemed fine. The past few days I have
noticed mail being stuck in the queue and I have to force
the connection. Ever so often I get Error on ServerName
email telling me the error is on the queues. I also have
the diagnostic logging for all services under
MSExchangeTransport and this is the message I get numerous
times in the eventlog.

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeTransport
Event Category: Exchange Store Driver
Event ID: 350
Date: 5/3/2004
Time: 11:20:05 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SERVERNAME
Description:
Function HrGetBinary( ...
IMMPID_EMP_ORIGINAL_P1_RECIPIENT_LIST ...) failed with
error 800300fd when setting original envelope recipients
on messsage .

I can't find anything in knowledge base regarding this
warning message. And any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Are you by chance doing Message Journaling? If so check the mailbox that you
are journaling to. Another step to try resolve the issue it to disable the
journaling to see if this helps.

Hi Patrick,

Yes I am journaling all messages to a single mailbox. Its
our way of keeping track of our messages for compliance
purposes. Would you suggest I journal messages to a
separate mailbox in each store? I will do what you
suggested. I am able to get into the mailbox and haven't
seen any problems. I do notice when the user email using
distribution lists those emails tend to stick around in
the queue.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Patrick,

I have ceased journaling and I am still receiving the
error message in my application log. Would and offline
defrag help?

Hi Patrick,

Disabling the message archiving did in face alleviate the
error messages and having messages stuck in the queue.
However I do need the messages to be archive for
compliance purposes. Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Create a mailbox in each store to Journal to.

i Patrick,

I have tried that already but have still had the same
issues. I still have mail stuck in the queue at times
(the error message is gone) but I am wondering if it could
be disk related. Store.exe is taking up about 723mb of
ram. Would an offline defrag help considering this all
started when I created new stores and moved the mailboxes.

Thanks,
Steve

i Steve,

An offline defrag can never hurt.

the error message I posted previously because I can't find
anything in the MS knowledge base.

Thanks again,
