Aapche: Limit number of connections per IP

Hi

I have been reading a number of articles.
One (Chrooting Unix Services) includes the following:

Against Denial-of-Service attacks
- Limit number of connections per IP address per second, also ICMP
replies, etc.
- Limit number of processes per user, memory and CPU time per process, etc.

I have not been able to find any info anywhere about the above two
mentioned actions.
I have seen mod_throttle but that is all.

Any ideas, pointers, links would be greatly appreciated.

1. HELP - Limit connections per IP in IIS6

2. how to edit "TCP Connections per Minute from One IP Address Limit Exceeded" rule

Hi all,

I am using a third party content filtering software (CA SCM) between
clients and ISA. ISA acts only for web caching. but as all the
requests to ISA flows through the web filter machine, i am getting a
"TCP Connections per Minute from One IP Address Limit Exceeded" error
for the web filter IP and ISA blocks the IP for 1 minute.

is there a way to bypass this protection for one IP or raise the
threshold value to a higher point so that my web filter will not be
blocked?

thanks in advance...

Ozgur
