KEY TO GETTING AN INTERVIEW: The Manager is looking for someone that has experience designing fans/compressors/turbine components who also has a willingness to get hands dirty (ie, work with hardware and manufacturing people) ...


Client wants an experienced Mechanical Engineer that has lots of ANSYS Analysis exp. Someone who can write reports and has analytical design exp and exp with aerospace engine components. (hardware exp)
CAD exp is required but this Manager does not want an Engineer who the bulk of their exp is with design and CAD work.

Job Description:

Co-located engineer supporting the Fans & Compressors (FanC) Components Manufacturing Centers of Excellence (CoE), Value Engineering Team (VET) and Repair & Development Engineering.

The position reports directly to the Level 4 Leader of the FanC CoE/VET/RDE support group. Performs engineering activities for qualifying manufacturing processes for improving the CoE/VET/RDE cost, quality, delivery, and inventory objectives for current production. Conduct engineering review/analysis of MRB/ARB and nonconformance disposition where required including root cause evaluation and elimination. For future products, generate/update DFME standards for reduced cycle time/cost based on lessons learned including cost models, standard drawings and specifications, CAD standards, and parametric design systems.

Expert ANSYS analysis skills for Aerospace hardware is an asset.

o Full integration with the CoE/VET/RDE
o Timely resolution of assigned CoE/VET/RDE manufacturing issues
for minimum impact on component quality and delivery while
meeting cost targets
o Identify cost reduction projects
o Build and lead teams to deliver CoE/VET/RDE goals
o Dedicated engineering support to assigned production sites,
cells, VET & RDE projects
o Good interpersonal and team skills to improve engineering-
manufacturing integration
o Escapes, non-conformances, and repetitive MRB/ARB drivers ---
escape and MRB/ARB elimination, reduce scrap & rework --- formal
o Expert ANSYS analysis skills for Aerospace hardware
o CATIA CAD compatibility
o Component cost data base
o Standard drawings and parametrics
o Standard specifications
o DFME standards


Design Engineer in Aerospace with 10+ experience. Experience working with Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) with the ability to interpret design analysis to ISC related issues. ANSYS expert an asset. Strong Communication skills (verbal, reports, presentations)
an asset.
