Description: Our client is involved in many projects including: development of a clinical/molecular data warehouse, creation of web-based research application generation software, and the development of software that is "semantically interoperable" across multiple research organizations.

The facility supports clinical, genetic, molecular biology, epidemiology, cancer prevention/control, and outcomes investigations and uses healthcare information standards (e.g., HL7 v3 RIM) and controlled vocabularies.

Facility members participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, modification and support).

Successful applicants will contribute to the development of Java/J2EE software and web architecture in support of cancer research.

Successful candidates must have: a BS in computer science or related field (graduate degree in biomedical informatics or software engineering, preferred); experience in design with information models (using UML, Entity-Relationship Diagrams or ontologies); and experience with web application development using Java and relational databases.

Candidates must be self-directed and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of standardized vocabularies and J2EE technologies (such as Prot? Apache Ant, Struts, Hibernate, Spring Framework, JBoss, and Eclipse) is highly desirable.

Experience with gathering requirements from diverse healthcare disciplines is a plus. The level of appointment will be commensurate with experience.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?JAVA Application Developer

Qualified candidates will have the following requirements:

* 5+ years of experience in developing and supporting Web-Based Applications.
* Required skills include: J2EE design and development, Java programming, Java Server Pages (JSP), Enterprise Java Beans, JDBC, Struts, Object oriented analysis and modeling, XSLT and XML.
* Desired skills include BEA WebLogic, SQL and Oracle, JDO, and Blaze Rules Engine.
* Working with CVS source control is also desired.
* Demonstrated strong written and *** communication skills.
* Demonstrated adherence to the software development lifecycle.
* Must be able to work with limited supervision while still being able to meet business deliverables according to project plans and Service Level Agreements.
