i select postgres, mysql and apache during installation, how do these

I assume you mean how do you start them?
# su
# service httpd start
# service mysql start

httpd = Apache
I do not know about postgres.

You also have to configure httpd.conf, this is tricky. Good luck!

For PostgreSQL you will need to change to your PostgreSQL user (yo
can't run it as root), usually 'postgres', then issue the command:

pg_ctl -D <insert path to data dir> start

-------------------

This is with PostgreSQL 7.4.1

Your data directory will need to be fully writeable by the PostgreSQ
user
