Alternative to WebEx

Alternative to WebEx

Post by Ross » Sat, 24 Jan 2004 09:14:22

Hi there,
I am running Red Hat Linux 7.3 on my laptop. Unfortunately, I am unable to
run WebEx presentations because WebEx is not supporting RH 7.3 and later
versions, and will not be supporting it for at least another 6 months.

How to get around this problem? Or, is there an alternative way other than
WebEx?
Any idea would be greatly appreciated,
Ross

Geesh... they're running behind for about a few years...

What exactly is WebEx? If it's just a presentation program, you could
use OpenOffice.org's Impress.

RealPlayer has presentation features. It can also stream live video and
audio, and combine all those into a Real presentation.

Now I have HelixPlayer on my computer, it is the next generation of the
Realplayer and RealOnePlayer. You can get the linux version from a
HelixPlayer community web site at:

(Page down a couple of times after you go to the page)
http://www.yqcomputer.com/

or you can get Unix version of Real from Germany or Austria.

For creating presentations you only need a text editor and use the SMIL
format. There are some free tools on realnetwoks site; check for something
like SDK and then UNIX tools.

I think SMIL works on RealPlayer for UNIX and not HelixDNA

You can also download the FREE version of HelixProducer to create media
