Problem with installation of a class library

Post by tyam » Tue, 05 Aug 2003 17:24:51

I have problems with installation of CLHEP on RedHat Linux 8.0.
CLHEP is a name of class library.

When I type the command "./configure" , following error(?) messages are shown:

"UNEXPECTED CHOICE OF C++ COMPILER: gcc SELECTED C++ COMPILER: gcc"
and
"Cannot find include files for C++ run time library.
Pleases add the relevant directory to the TOPINCLUDES macro in the Makefile(s)" etc.

I have already set CXX environment variable to "gcc".
Please tell me a meaning of the messages and how to deal with this.

Thank you,
TY

well, gcc is not a C++ compiler but a C compiler. maybe you should set
the CXX variable to point to your g++?
