LMAO!

Linux doesn't belong anywhere near end users.

You're on a roll tonight DFS!!!!!

Right now I'm working on resurrecting a really, really nice jazz band
performance that was ruined because some idiot didn't record it
correctly.
I'd love to say he was using Linux, but it was a Mac running Protools.
The jackass routed cables wrong, used balanced and unbalanced cables in
the same run and picked up all kinds of hum and noise.

I'm using iZtope's RX Advanced to try and put Humpty Dumpty back
together again.
It's a labor of love for a friend of mine.
I hope I can make it sound reasonable because the performance is
incredible. You would never guess these were kids playing.

It's a high school band, but they are really good.
Mostly because where I live, the kids in the band are all taking private
lessons unlike the inner city kids who typically don't.
Sometimes it doesn't matter though, The Harlem Boy's Choir is
outstanding.
So is Staten Island's PS 22 Chorus which performed at the Oscars,
amongst other places.

That's nice of you.

How does the RX Advanced software identify and scrub off unwanted sounds?

Were outstanding. Officially disbanded a while back

I watched the whole RX2 Advanced video. Awesome stuff!

Pricey too - $1200 to buy new. Windows and Mac only.

What's the Linux "equivalent"?

It ain't cheap.
You can get the advanced version here for $1099 but honestly the
standard version has more than enough tools and goes for about $300.

Like most high quality, professional aduio programs, there is no Linux
equivilant.

Oh I'm sure HPT will drag out some moth eaten POS program that detects
transients and softens them or something like that.
That's kid's stuff compared to iZotope.

Which is why iZotope RX is used in studios world wide and Linux is not.

Nice.
Judy Collins is great!
