Lin-X: A Quick Review

,----[ Quote ]
| Recently a new Linux distribution was born, called Lin-X. Based off Ubuntu
| 8.10, and designed to look like Mac OS X, it grabbed my attention.

Linux That Looks Like Windows: Bad!

,----[ Quote ]
| Conclusion: Linux already has excellent mainstream desktop environments
| which have a unique look and feel which differs from that of Windows.
| That's not a bad thing: Linux doesn't need to look like Windows. If a
| user wants to make their Linux distro look like the OS they left
| behind, that's perfectly fine - all they need to do is install
| xpde or LXP. However, what we cannot do is mimic Windows'
| interface, as that would destroy one of the Linux desktop's
| greatest advantages - its beauty, difference, innovation and
| ease of use.

| Since the Lin-X site is not available I could not find exact install
| requirements. But since it based on Ubuntu you should simply bear the Ubuntu
| install requirements in mind. I had a few problems with the install which Ie
| detailed in the problems section. Suffice to say that once you actually get the
| install going it about the same as installing any other Ubuntu-based
| distribution which means that it not difficult.
