What sort of keyboard/mouse do they use? As in, would the buyer have to
track down funny Sun keyboards, or will they be happy with USB stuff?

The Sun Ray server software runs around $100 per user license according
to Sun's website. The server software will run on Linux at least (it
used to be Solaris only). Sun Rays are not X terminals. They use a
proprietary protocol, so Sun's server software is *required*.
