Cardbus and Soundcard conflict on Thinkpad T22

Post by glyph2k » Mon, 17 Oct 2005 21:39:20

Hi.
I've been using Slackware 10.1 on my Thinkpad T22 for a month or so and
have had very few problems until I tried to use a 2 port USB 2.0
PC-Card (the brand name is sweex). The card is detected on startup and
works fine. However, the sound card stops working.

Both the Cardbus and Soundcard are using irq 11. Could this be the
source of the problem? I've read though the PCMCIA-HOWTO and tried
excluding irq 11 but that has no effect (the card still uses irq 11).

cardmgr version is 3.2.8

Could someone point me at information on changing the irq (assuming
that is the problem)? Thanks.

Gentoo and a T22 here,

3 solutions:

a. use the second Cardbusslot
b. disable acpi
c. (most preferred) use the kernel ibm-acpi module.

Ciao,
Thomas.

I did try this but with no luck.

OK. I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the help.
