SuSE 8.2 on VAIO Model: PCG - 9N1M

Hi there,

I'm trying to install SuSE 8.2(personal) on a Sony Vaio I recently bought,
Model No. PCG - 9N1M, but I have encountered a problem.
The laptop boots into the SuSE installer, goes through its startup routine,
and then a series of messages comes up on a clean screen after a prompt '>',
whith only one line ever on the screen.
This is just after the ramdisk loading.
Most of them seem to be concerned with some braille thing, and I believe the
last one is to do with USB.
After these messages appear, the computer just stops - though, surprisingly
it still prints everything you type to the screen, though it can't be a
prompt, as it does not respond to what you type, even with error messages.
It cannot be a pause in the installation either - I have left it for over 3
hours once and still it did not even approach the installer, or change in
any way.
If anyone has any ideas, or if I am in the wrong newsgroup :), please tell
me.

Thanks,

David Morris
