Upgraded Gnome to 2.4 - Where are my Programs?

I've upgrade from Gnome 2.2 to 2.4, and all of my programs menus that
used to be in the lower left hand 'main-menu' launcher are gone. I
want my old one back, and I want it to point to all of my new,
improved applications. If somebody can tell me how to recover this, It
would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anybody knows why I can no longer hold down the delete key to
erase a line of text, please inform. For some reason the repeat-key
behavior doesn't seem to do the trick. I've played around with the
settings in gnome-control-center, but nothing seems to help.

thanks in advance,

Upgraded Gnome to 2.4 - Where are my Programs?

You need a backup of your old gnome2-register (it's similare to the
windows-register file), as it has been overwritten by the new 2.4
gnome2-register. If you have a backup of the old one, just save it over the
new one.

Seems like the default setting in Gnome2.4 is "no repeat", so you need to go
into your settings (or do a gnome2-register hacking) to change the repeating.
As it didn't seem like your settings changes from the gnome2-central did
change anything, then it's time for register hacking.
