Samba problems

Post by shock10 » Wed, 17 Sep 2003 03:18:16

For some reason everytime I try to connect to my windows shares from
linux I get these errors:
timeout connecting to 192.168.1.100:139
Error connecting to 192.168.1.100 (Operation already in progress)
1349: Connection to chrisroot failed
SMB connection failed

What does this mean? I restarted samba, shut down iptables, restarted
my linux and windows boxes, what is going on? I am running RH7.3 with
all updates from up2date, I was able to connect to my shares
yesterday.

Nevermind I fixed the problem I was having, I put a rule in iptables:
iptables -i eth1 -j ACCEPT and it worked, whereas before I just
allowed things to come in from my desktop and laptop through eth1.
