Radeon 7500 video gamma

Does anyone know how to set gamma when playing video on this card, with
mplayer the only way I can do it is to set with xgamma and use the x11 vo
driver. This is usually OK but sometimes won't scale properly, and on big
vids it needs too much CPU for my old PII350 Xv and others work, but are
too dark.

TIA

XXXX@XXXXX.COM into the
Message-ID box, search. Or try the xvattr program, if you run that and
it lists XV_BRIGHTNESS among the attributes, you can set that attribute
to something higher or lower and see what that does.

Thanks for that - I have managed to get brightness to work with mplayer -
but it's not the same as gamma. I just tried a test in win 98 with the
catalyst drivers and they don't want to know either.

Did a bit more digging in the mplayer manual and have managed to use -vo xv
with -vop eq2=2.4 to do s/w gamma also found -vop scale= option which s/w
scales with x11 on the few it fails to scale on by its self.

The xv + software gamma uses less CPU than the x11 driver so I can live
with it.
