Does anyone know how to make text line up straight with the line
below, for example here:

o text
o text
o text

nb these are not bullets but inserted symbols

It looks ok here, but in Word these bubbles are slightly out of
alignment with eachother so instead of being in a stright vertical
line they look wobbly and out of place.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Are you attempting to line them up using spaces? If so, this is your
problem. You should set tabs and line them up with these.
