HI,

I am using bookmarks and cross-referencing to obtain page number of a
specific section in my TOC (MS WORD XP). However if I insert another
page in the document, I have to reinsert each cross-reference in my TOC
in order to update to the new numbers.
Restarting word does not help. Is this a normal behaviour?

Any unmentioned reason why you are not using Word's build-in TOC
mechanism for a TOC?



No. The cross-reference should update provided you do _trigger_ it to
update. You can do that by

- selecting one field/cursor in the field/selecting all fields and
hitting F9 (UpdateFields)
- switching to Print Preview
