Networking using Wireless DSL connection and Wireless Router

Post by slhart_9 » Tue, 20 Jul 2004 14:51:26

I have several computers currently connect through a 3com
OfficeConnect 8 port hub. I have internet access through a wireless
DSL provider that connects to the main computer via a USB port. This
is the only option for high speed internet access in my area. I am
trying to connect this main internet computer to the other computers
in the LAN so that each can access the internet. I have purchased a
Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless Access Point/ Router and I would think that
there would be a way to connect them all together and use the internet
on each. I have a 3com PCI NIC in the main computer as well and the
others have built in NICS or wireless cards installed in them. I can
see each computer on the network fine and share files/printers etc...
I just can't seem to share the internet connection even with ICS
installed. Please help.

Thanks

his is a multi-part message in MIME format.

2 issues come to mind.
The DSL modem should be connected to a router by Ethernet, NOT to the MAIN computer.
Use a router and delete ICS
Do both of these and your issues will disappear.
