The max size of an array is 65000 elements. What exactly are you trying to
do with the array and Excel? Do you want to export your data to an Excel
file?

No, an array in versions of VFP 8 or earlier are limited to 65,000 total
elements. This restriction has been lifted in the soon to be avalable
public beta of VFP9.

In either case, you don't need an array at all. You can still automate
Excel using a cursor or table to place the values.

Hi Sam,
As you know from Erics' and Fred's replies there's a limit to the number of
elements in an array in Visual FoxPro.
Next week the free public beta of VFP9 should be available. One of the
enhancements will be arrays of unlimited size, till you run out of RAM.
Anyway, managing data like 10*10000 pieces of data in an array that's more
like Basic programming. This is FoxPro, a data managment tool. 10* 10000
data elements should go into a cursor with 10 columns and 10000 rows. See
CREATE CURSOR and CREATE TABLE and INSERT INTO or APPEND FROM in Help.
