How does W2K starts up a PCMCIA network card?

Hello, I have some questions regarding to PCMCIA under W2k:

Does anyone know how Win2k brings to life a PCMCIA NIC?
What is the role of pcmcia.sys?
At which point takes the card driver control?
Are there any readings, books or articles about that?
Does someone know other IOCTL's for pcmcia.sys than
IOCTL_GET_TUPLE_DATA and IOCTL_SOCKET_INFORMATION?
How can I start building a simple driver that registers a PC card with
windows and only maps chip registers into I/O space?

Ok, too many questions... Please help...

Thanks in advance,
-> Peter

Pcmcia.sys is a PnP bus driver... just like any other PnP bus drivers in win2k.
Read on this in the DDK documentation.
(and stop thinking about Card services).
