"Legacy" is the term Microsoft now uses to describe Windows 2000 and
Windows NT systems.

"Legacy" is the term Sun uses to describe older versions of Solaris
(e.g. Solaris 7, 2 etc).

Point being is that every platform has legacy versions.

That does not mean current versions of each of these OS platforms are
"legacy".

Granted, the media types of the world still have a hard time
understanding this concept.

...and most folks born after the 'boomers seems to equate "legacy" with
"old, useless garbage" (i.e., not a point-and-click toy). What did the
guy say in MiB? Oh,yeah: "old and busted", as opposed to the "new
hotness".
