How to change CheckPoint NG MTU size?

Post by flya75 » Fri, 21 May 2004 03:52:40

I have a DSL connection and I know that the MTU must be 1404.

How can I change the MTU size on a CheckPoint NG firewall?

Thanks,
Dan

The answer above is technically correct. However, there is a function, under
SmartDefender, which looks at incoming packet and trigger on packets that
are outside the min/max MTU size. It is a configurable value.

So, the size of the incoming packet is a product of the origination
application or server, but how it is handled...if it is outside accepted (or
configured) standards....may be addressed by the firewall.
