How can I configure the font for scilab3.0?

Post by Zhang Chen » Sat, 06 Nov 2004 22:38:41

Hi, all
I just upgraded scilab2.7 to Scilab 3.0 on my Debian Linux box.
Strangely, I don't find the fonts configuration file in
/usr/lib/scilab/X11_defaults. And I failed to seek any other proper
files to configure the font settings.

Could you tell me what I should do to configure the font settings in
Scilab 3.0?

Any suggestions and comments will be apprieciated. Thank you!

You might have the same problem than me. If you use the scilab-bin
package from the unstable branch. It is build with GTK ? If this is the
case I think the error comes from the zterm program used by scilab. On
my debian it is unable to find any font whatever I give him.
I think this should be done in the scilab script. There is a line where
zterm is launched.
when you do zterm -h in the right directory it seems to give the
possibility to change the font but it always fail on my computer. I
change only the size but I get an awfully pixelized fond not really
readable. (if i do nothing the font is 3 or 4 pixels high, thus unusable)

I haven't got the problem with version build against the xaw library.

I would be interested if anyone had a clue to solve the problem

Bruno

I encountered the similar font problem. The font size is not bad, but it
seems the hinting for fonts was turned off. But It turned out all
right after I reinstalled it on my debian box. Maybe you give it a try:-)
