MacOSX and PPC

Post by fakeuse » Thu, 26 Feb 2009 07:59:05

I downloaded scilab-5.1-alpha-1.app and tried it on my PPC mac.
It crashed immediately with no error message.

Eventually I discovered that this alpha version was intel only.
It would be nice if this was noted somewhere. There are lots
of ppc mac's still running.

Hello,
is an official ppc binary or UB planned for stable release?

Not sure we are going to build for ppc: we haven't been able to buy a Mac
with a ppc CPU since Apple is no longer selling them.

In article <gqfs4j$60j$ XXXX@XXXXX.COM >,

Can't you just build UB even without the actual hardware to test it?

I, for instance, would appreciate an UB build even without support.

Yep, I have to find out how it is done with the autotools (and if it is
possible)

I added this point in my todo list.
