Netscape: site looks bad in NS, but not IE or Opera

Post by Reesa Marc » Fri, 07 May 2004 09:23:47

Hi,

Can someone please tell me where I have gone wrong? This site looks
fine in IE and Opera, latest version, but the pages are spread out all
over the place in NS 7.

Thanks!

Hi Reesa

It appears your problem is within the javascript on the page. After I viewed the site and saw what you were referring to, I disabled javascript and refreshed the page

With javascript disabled the site was pretty close to IE, except for the margins, but this was due to your margin settings and not a big deal. ( leftmargin="10", marginwidth="0")

To be honest I am not exactly sure where it is at, but my first step would be to create a second test page and remove the dynamic menu and your reference .js files to menumaker

View it again and if everything is OK, you know where to try and track it down

Hi JDR,

Thanks for your suggestions. I did some experimenting and found the
problem is in the main table of the page, not the menumaker. I'll
probably just get rid of the messed-up template and start over. I used
the dynamic web template setup, so hopefully when i fix the dwt file,
they'll all be fixed.

usually the problem in mozilla/ Netscape is the style that FrontPage adds to
tables it's the "border-collapse, and maybe the ID attributes" before you
tear your site apart, try going into code view and removing this stuff from
your tables on a single page to see if it helps. if it does you can do a
"find and replace" and get them all in one shot.
