Copy & paste graphics -- only "paste special"?

Copy & paste graphics -- only "paste special"?

We're running SPSS 13 on a Citrix server for use by both Macintosh and
Windows users. We've recently discovered that most of the graphics
routines won't "paste" directly into MS Word -- the graphics must be
pasted through the "paste special" option, choosing the "picture"
format. Any graphics created through the "interactive" option *will*
paste directly into Word, but they appear to be the only graphics that
do that.

Is this normal? I thought we were doing more direct copy and pastes
with version 12.

Thanks for any information anyone can give.

Are you using Copy (CTL-C) or Copy-Object(s) (CTL-K)? In Windoze, CTL-K
from SPSS and CTL-V (paste) into Word gives good results for pivot
tables. Strangely, it does not work well for pasting into PowerPoint.
I find I have to paste into Word, then CTL-C copy from Word and CTL-V
paste into PowerPoint. HTH.

Unfamiliar with "copy-object", perhaps because we're Mac folks that are
stumbling over this issue. Thanks for the tip. Overall, though, it
looks like this is "normal" behavior, and we're just not used to it.

Thanks, again.
