(Try) Building 2.8.0 for MacOSX

Post by bengt.nils » Sat, 30 Dec 2006 20:04:40

My platform is Mac OSX 10.4.8, dual G5.
I just downloaded wxWidgets 2.8.0 and tried to build src/
wxWindows.xcodeproj, and as always, it did not build.
I got the error:

/Users/bnilsson/Documents/Programming/Active/OpenSource/
wxWidgets-2.8.0/src/build/wxWindows.build/Development/static.build/
Script-4086C743063AB2FF00D4CD53.sh: line 2: /Users/bnilsson/Documents/
Programming/Active/OpenSource/wxWidgets-2.8.0/src/../distrib/mac/
pbsetup-sh: No such file or directory

Why is the xcodeproj included if it is not supported?

For reference, I tried both wxAll and wxMac, all with the same result.

Sorry this file was missed (it is a well-reported problem); you can get
it from the updated http://www.yqcomputer.com/

Thanks for the quick reply, it is now built fine, both static and
dynamic.
I apologize for my negative attitude, but although wxWidgets is
supposed to be cross-platform I have this strange paranoic feeling
that anything else than Windows is at a slightly lower priority. I
guess I am oversensitive. But I must say, apart from this initial
flaw, it is the first time I have seen wxWidgets build on my Mac
without errors right from the box. Good work!

As I said, apart from the missing file, the result was perfect, so
don't be sorry.

OTOH we could reverse the feeling. We released three release candidates for
2.8.0 (not counting 2.7.X towards 2.8.0) and tried our best (sometimes blindly
without having platform to test) to fix all reported problems. What you see as
"prirority" is probably related to amount of feedback.

I would be glad to help if I can.
What forum would be the best to do this in?

If you find bugs, please let us know, either here on on Sourceforge
tracker. If you find the problem and a fix, a diff or patch would be
excellent
