LO-MAC - Now I want a TRUE A-10 study sim!

I love playing the A-10 in LO-MAC. Now I am resentful of EA for ditching
their A-10 sim. I can only hope that some time in the near future another
quality dev team will make an A-10 study sim with a dynamic camapaign.
Despite the A-10's virtually non-existant digital avionics it is great fun
to fly and destroy the enemy. I like flying at 250-300 MPH NOE and
unleashing a crapload of TNT on the enemy. I realize it sure beats Mach 2
launching missiles at a blinking dot on my radar screen. Not to say that
doesn't have its satisfaction. While it is good that the personal side of
combat is dwindling quickly in air-to-air combat, I love the involvement in
WWII air combat and Air-to-Ground modern combat due to the up close and
personal engagement.

Please, please, please some great dev team create and release an open-coded
A-10 study sim. Our talented flight sim community will contribute to making
it the best sim ever! I will contribute with what little technical talents I
have.

Well Falcon OIR will have an A10 but whether or not they built it from the
ground up with native A10 avionics remains to be seen.

Hey I have been wondering about the A-10 in Lomac... (it's on my xmas list!)

Does the A10 have a different damage model then the other planes? In other
words, does the flying tank have the ability to take large amounts of damage
and keep on flying? Such as losing an engine to an AA missile, part of
wing, one of the vertical stabilizers, etc.? Can you land easily with the
landing gear stuck in the up position? (since it's designed for that) Or
any other damage modeled that would be unique to the A-10.

One of the reasons I love the A10 is it's survivability receiving damage
that would cause those afterburners (F14/15/16/18's etc) to go down in
flames but I haven't seen any talk of this yet so I'm guessing it's just not
there.

Is Dynamix's A-10 Tank Killer 1.5 still the best A-10 sim ever???

I'm not real sure as I haven't played any A-10 sims in the past except a
little bit if A-10 Tank Killer years ago. I actually have considered firing
that one up just to compare.

I have taken a considerable amount of damage on the A-10 many times, but it
seems that if you get hit in the wing, you're pretty much FUBAR. On several
occassions I have also had the aircraft split in half from a single missile
striike, and that bugs me. But usually my ECM is the first thing to go, then
my HUD and avionics, so have to hike back to base with a little left or
right turning bias assuming it is from damage on the ailerons which isn't
always visible.

Doesn't seem like it.
95% of the time I get hit my a10 is missing everything from the wings
back (must eject)

Never was IMO

A10 Cuba was much better than that sim. The A10 in LOMAC is fairly
detailed. It may be a survey sim but the planes have more detail than
USAF.

A few nights ago I had the left aileron and right rudder shot up.

I was able to limp back to base for an interesting landing.

I have also experienced the "plane splitting" missile hit, and at the other
end of the spectrum; fuel leaks and a bunch of bullet holes.

Having great fun with this one...

I agree the flight model of A10 Cuba was the best ever but I kinda of was
talking about the damage model which was the reason for the reference to
A-10 TK 1.5.
